Signed and Framed 1983 Bill Wesling Print, Certified Numbered Bill Wesling Art, Vintage Wildlife Art, Cottontail Rabbit Painting, 21" by 19"
Gold metal framed signed Paul Wesling print from 1983. The green double matting goes perfectly with the gold frame and compliments the picture. A momma cottontail rabbit with her two baby bunnies are portrayed in the woods. The frame measures 19 1/4" wide by 21 1/4" high by 1 3/4" deep. The front surface is clear plexiglass and not actual glass. The print is signed by hand on the bottom right corner and certified/numbered 61/500 on the bottom left corner. The bottom center of the print reads, "Cotton-Tail Rabbits - Sulvilagus Floridanus". The actual print measures 15" high by 13" wide. The frame and print are both in excellent vintage condition with some mild surface scratches to the outside of the frame and to the plexiglass. Please see provided photos for full details. A little bit about the artist - William A. ''Bill'' Wesling Jr. was from Sharon Pennsylvania. He moved to Salt Springs and had a secluded studio in the Ocala National Forest. He studied under notable teachers such as Pulitzer Prize winner Vincent Nesbert and John Jellico who was the director of the Art Institute of Colorado. Wesling's work has appeared in more than 80 national publications. His prints and paintings have been sold in galleries and frame shops throughout the United States. ''Each of his paintings not only portrays in fantastic detail the wild, free creatures but contains a hidden story - an instant from their lives,'' said Jellico in an informational brochure about Wesling. The wildlife paintings by Bill Wesling span more than four decades of the 20th century and portray a range of subjects, from Florida panthers to birds, and wildlife. Bill Wesling passed away in the fall of 1990.
