Rare antique early 20th century Wabash Cabinet Company oak file cabinet. Produced by the Wabash Cabinet Company of Indiana between 1900 - 1910. Solid oak construction single file cabinet on stand with casters. The cabinet opens from the top with a metal "non-slip removable compressor" for keeping files in place. The top can be removed from the base as shown in the pictures. The original hardware is in place as well as the original casters. This is an old piece that was much loved and shows its story through time. It is completely functional and the filing apparatus moves from side to side. Measures 31" high by 19 3/4" wide by 13 3/4" deep. It is in good condition for its age with obvious wear and signs of use. The black paint is flaking from the iron handles. The casters are worn and one of them falls out when the cabinet is picked up but it is easily put back into place and functions. The side of the base is marked, "The Wabash Cabinet Co. - Wabash, Indiana".

This is definitely a rare find and the first single-drawer antique filing cabinet that I have personally come across. It has beautiful patina and displays very well. It would make a great accent table or stand.
