Vintage Studio Pottery House, Signed Studio Pottery House, Loreto, Exceptional Collectible Pottery
Fantastic vintage studio pottery house. Signed "Loreto", which I'm assuming is for Loreto, Mexico. This beautiful piece of handcrafted pottery is hand-molded from a mixture of materials including clay and metal. It portrays the face of a broken-down house with holes in the stone walls, bends in the metal trellis gate, and patches of broken plaster over crumbling brick. The back of the house reveals a shell of a bathroom with exposed pipes leading to a water tank positioned on the roof as well as an empty room. The back of the house is signed by the artist. It is painted in subtle tones to highlight its age and ruin. It really is quite something! There was so much time and detail put into the creation of this house with the different facades. It really does evoke the feeling of something lost. There are so many decorative uses for this house including shelf decor, placed on a stack of antique books, as a bookend, on a tabletop or in a cabinet as part of a collection, etc.
